How are building security officers trained

Security guards providing building security services must posses a combination of communication and observation skills.

Security guards must first be screened to ensure that they have no criminal record, pass drug screenings and pass a basic communication competency examination. After successfully passing the standard screening and testing recieve training which covers subjects such as report writting, verbal communication, reading body language, patrol techniques.  Security guards must succesfully complete all of these prescreening and security training steps in prior to providing builidng security services.  After initial training field supervisors should test offficers awareness and provide additonal assistance in the field.
